Transfer gossip: Fulham tipped to move for Lyon star
Some of the stories in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…
Fulham are preparing an £18m bid for Lyon forward Maxwel Cornet, according to the Sun on Sunday.
The Whites have previously been linked with the Ivory Coast international, who recently helped Lyon pull off a shock win against Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Sun on Sunday say Fulham plan to open talks with Lyon over a potential deal to sign him next summer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have joined Chelsea in showing an interest in Ajax’s Brazilian forward David Neres, it is claimed.
Chelsea were linked with the 21-year-old earlier this week and the Sunday Express claim Spurs are also showing an interest.
The newspaper’s story appears to be based on one by Calciomercato, an Italian outlet which also claimed Chelsea were interested and has linked him with a host of clubs, which now includes Spurs.
Neres is said to be rated at around £45m and has recently been linked with a move to German club Borussia Dortmund.
The Sunday Express reckon Manchester United as well as Chelsea have watched Neres and declare that “Spurs are set to battle Premier League rivals to sign him.”
And the Sunday Mirror say Chelsea are monitoring Reading’s England Under-19 forward Danny Loader.
