Fulham complete signing of top Jokanovic target Martin
Fulham have completed the signing of Derby County striker Chris Martin on a season-long loan.
West London Sport recently revealed that Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic was keen to sign Martin and later revealed that the Whites were closing in on a loan deal.
Jokanovic has been at odds with the Fulham hierarchy over the club’s transfer policy for some time, and confirmed those tensions when recently speaking of his frustration at not having control over signings.
The signing Martin, among the players most wanted by Jokanovic, is therefore a major boost for the Serbian, particularly following the arrival of another of his main targets, midfielder Stefan Johansen from Celtic.
Martin has made 142 league appearances for Derby, scoring 53 times, and has featured in all five of their Championship matches this season.
He joined the East Midlands club from Norwich City in 2013, initially on loan.
