Burnley v Fulham player ratings

Andre Gray scored twice to inspire Burnley to victory at Turf Moor. Here’s how we rated Fulham’s players in their 3-1 defeat.

Joe Lewis: 6
Came in for the injured Andy Lonergan for only his fourth Fulham start. He is yet to keep a clean sheet in 90 minutes but could do little about Burnley’s three goals.

Richard Stearman: 6
Struggled against the pace of Gray, and was not in tune with the rest of the defence as they attempted to play the striker offside before he fired home his second goal. Put a very late header wide.

Dan Burn: 6
Allowed Gray in behind him for the second goal and was also brushed aside too easily as the ex-Brentford man hit the bar after the break. Did atone with a good header off the line to prevent a certain third, and was used as an auxiliary forward late on.

Tim Ream: 6
Lost track of the elusive Gray for the first goal and was shunted to left-back when the 3-5-2 formation was ditched at half-time. Was then replaced after an hour by Alex Kacaniklic as Fulham hunted an equaliser.

Ryan Fredericks: 7
Began in the right wing-back role and got forward well in the second half as Fulham enjoyed the upper hand. Replaced on 78 minutes by Lasse Vigen Christensen after picking up an injury.

Ryan Tunnicliffe: 7
Beaten to the ball by Gray for the opening goal but aside from that put in an energetic display in the middle of the park. Performed his dual role – of destroyer and creator of attacks – pretty well.

Jamie O’Hara: 6
Fired shots off target at either end of the first half and was pretty combative before being sacrificed on 78 minutes for Matt Smith.

Tom Cairney: 8
One of three real stand-out players for Fulham, alongside Husband and McCormack. Played the final pass for the latter’s goal and was the key creative outlet for the Whites.

James Husband: 7
Started as a left-wing back, then played as an orthodox winger for 15 minutes of the second half before reverting to left-back. Whichever position he was in, he was tidy in his defensive duties and kept Burnley busy when he got forward.

Ross McCormack: 8
Took his goal – his 10th of the season in all competitions – extremely well and seems to be in confident mood. Worked hard throughout to try and get his team level, shooting at Tom Heaton and also having an effort blocked.

Moussa Dembele: 7
Came into his own as the game progressed, with a couple of shots missing the target and a header straight at Heaton. Boss Kit Symons complained afterwards about the lack of service he and substitute Smith received.

Alex Kacaniklic: 6
Introduced just before the hour mark but struggled to make a real impact on the game.
