Boss is ‘shocked’ after Fulham debacle

Fulham boss Rene Meulesteen said he was “shocked” after his team’s 6-0 drubbing against Hull.

They headed north in buoyant mood after their improvement since Meulensteen’s appointment continued with the Boxing Day victory at Norwich.

But they were left red-faced after the debacle at the KC Stadium, where all six goals came in the second half.

“Today was just not good enough. I’m shocked,” said Meulensteen.

“I did not see that coming and the players did not see that coming. We need to go back to the drawing board.”

Fulham face a crucial game on New Year’s Day when they are at home to fellow strugglers West Ham, who are one off the bottom of the table – one place below the Whites.

“We have to make sure we react, so in a way it’s good we have another game so soon,” Meulensteen added.
