Tottenham 0 Fulham 1
Dimitar Berbatov’s second-half winner against his former club earned Fulham a shock victory.
Berbatov tapped home after great work by Sascha Riether – and Fulham became only the third team to win at White Hart Lane this season.
It was only their third away win of the campaign and their first since New Year’s Day.
Riether cleared a Gareth Bale header off the line after five minutes and Whites midfielder Steve Sidwell fired a shot wide just before the break.
But Berbatov struck six minutes after the restart when he turned in Riether’s cross following a quick break after Bale had tested the hands of Mark Schwarzer.
Brede Hangeland. who had an excellent game, almost doubled the away side’s lead when he headed wide.
On-loan Ajax midfielder Eyong Enoh made his Fulham debut late on and made two crucial challenges on the edge of the box as the visitors had to absorb sustained pressure.
John Arne Riise also put himself in harm’s way, bravely blocking Bale’s goal-bound volley and clearing Kyle Walker’s header off the line at the far post.
And Schwarzer, so often the hero for Fulham this season, saved fantastically to deny Jermain Defoe right at the death.
Fulham (4-4-2): Schwarzer, Riether, Senderos, Hangeland, Riise; Duff, Karagounis (Enoh 77), Sidwell, Dejagah; Ruiz (Emanuelson 90+1), Berbatov.
Subs not used: Etheridge, Hughes, Richardson, Petric, Rodallega
