Fulham striker Marcello Trotta and Chelsea midfielder George Saville look set to extend their loans at Brentford until the end of the season.
They have both expressed a desire to stay at Griffin Park beyond their current deals, which expire on 5 January.
Bees manager Mark Warburton is in talks with their parent clubs and he is confident they will sign-off on renewed deals when the transfer window reopens.
“We are in ongoing dialogue and we’d like to extend their loans,” Warburton told West London Sport.
“Chelsea have been excellent. I presume they’re happy with the way George has progressed – he’s had a lot of pitch time and he is certainly developing.
“George is happy in the squad and well respected both on and off the field, and I hope very much he will stay.”
Trotta and Saville were brought to Brentford while former manager Uwe Rosler was in charge and there have been rumours that the German could attempt to take the pair to Wigan.
But no other clubs have yet enquired about the possibility of signing Trotta in the new year.
“Marcello is another one we’d like to do and he’s played very well recently,” Warburton added. “It’s just about making sure we have the dialogue with the clubs.
“There are a lot of parts to the equation – the support network, the feedback and information to the parent club medically and analytically, the coach’s feedback and the player and his agent.
“There are a lot of pieces to the pie but hopefully everything is in place to extend the loans.”
