Liverpool boss Rodgers has not given up all hope of signing Salah
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has indicated to Talksport that he has not given up hope of signing Mohamed Salah.
Chelsea yesterday agreed a fee with Basel for the 21-year-old Egyptian midfielder, who had been tipped to move to Anfield.
But Rodgers said: “I’m not sure whether that deal is definitely done yet or not.
“The young guy is a good player. We have tracked him for a number of months – the club has been watching him and I have been to watch him.
“It is one where the agent of the player and the clubs were talking but if the deal can’t be done, the deal can’t be done.
“I know the club has been working very hard to get players in. I’ll leave that to them and see how they get on.”

It’s just like Chelsea to move in on another teams transfer choice AGAIN.
I totally agree with the other contributors in that Salah will not get any game time under his belt with Chelsea. Lets not forget that Mata who Salah is replacing left Chelsea because he wasn’t playing any football at all at Chelsea. So, it will be a stupid choice for Salah to go there. Right now he’s in the starting line-up at Basel and is in the champions league every season so he wouldn’t want to throw all that away to go and warm the bench at Chelsea.
Chelsea announced on Thursday that they had agreed a fee with Basel for Salah but until now he’s still a Basel player, and he hasn’t even completed a medical yet which will be done in Europe due to his visa. Which makes me think that the player doesn’t want the move to Chelsea and that he has another option which is Liverpool.
So taking all this into account i am absolutely hopeful that he will still be coming to Liverpool and not Chelsea unless if he only runs after the money as Chelsea will probably lure him away with a better pay package. It will be a very sad day for football if he does that as he is a very talented young player and i wouldn’t want to see him throw his talent away on the bench.

In 6 months time he will be looking to go out on loan because he isn’t getting any playing time.
Same old story chelsea …. And in a year or so he will be begging for a transfer.
If the lad has any sense above money … He would choose Liverpool where he will get game time and be loved by real fans.

He wasn’t saying that really, he was just saying it hadn’t been completed which is true. But Liverpool haven’t met the fee so he won’t be going there. If he has any sense he won’t go to Chelsea either as he won’t get a game but up to him I guess.
