Wigan v QPR player ratings
QPR remained third in the Championship after a statemate at the DW Stadium. Here’s how we rated the players in their draw against Wigan.
Rob Green: 7
Rarely tested and when he was he proved to be dependable, as he has all season.
Danny Simpson: 6
Solid but unspectacular. Made a few good runs in the second half and looked dangerous at times.
Clint Hill: 8
Made two decisive blocks from Marc-Antoine Fortune and Chris McCann in the second half. Imperious as always in defence.
Richard Dunne: 7
Was solid at the back after a shaky last few games. Dealt well with Fortune.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto: 7
A good display from the on-loan Tottenham man. Looked a real threat going forward, particularly in the first half.
Gary O’Neil: 6
As always, gave 100%, covering every inch of grass, but drifted too much into the middle and was ineffective at times.
Alejandro Faurlin: 8
Is the old Faurlin returning? Quite possibly, yes. He played very well in midfield, spraying the ball across the park and making crucial interceptions.
Jermaine Jenas: 5
This wasn’t Jenas’ best game. He gave the ball away needlessly on numerous occasions and was a weak link for Rangers.
Junior Hoilett: 6
A threat in the first half but faded away in the second and was replaced by Andy Johnson. Lacks a clinical streak.
Niko Kranjcar: 6
A frustrating night for the Croatian, who went off injured just before half-time. Without him Rangers lacked creativity.
Charlie Austin: 6
Worked hard in the lone striker role, with little for him to latch onto. Not the finished article by any means but he is certainly a grafter.
Matt Phillips: 6
Started brightly after coming on but tended to drift into the middle rather than attack his full-back.
Andy Johnson: 6
Making his first appearance since the end of August, Johnson looked sharp after coming off the bench and could have scored had he not been impeded by the keeper. Needs to keep fit to relieve the pressure on Austin.
