Transfer gossip: Speculation over Terry’s future as skipper prepares to leave

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea.

The announcement that John Terry will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season has inevitably increased speculation over his future.

The Daily Mirror say West Bromwich Albion will again look to sign the Blues skipper, who says he wants to continue his playing career.

Albion boss Tony Pulis made an enquiry about Terry during the January transfer window but the former England defender indicated that he wanted to see out the season at Stamford Bridge.

Pulis has duly been tipped to now try to snap up Terry, who has been linked with clubs in various parts of the world.

The Mirror also say there is little interest in Terry, 36, among MLS clubs despite him previously being linked with a possible move to the United States.

Real tipped to move for Hazard

Real Madrid continue to be linked with a summer move for Eden Hazard.

The Daily Star have picked up on reports in Spain claiming that Real president Florentino Perez has given the go-ahead for a £100m world-record bid for the Chelsea playmaker.

The Express, meanwhile, pick up on other reports in Spain claiming that a deal has already been agreed for Hazard to move to Real.

Milan want Fabregas deal – Mirror

AC Milan will make a fresh bid to tempt Cesc Fabregas away from Chelsea this summer, the Daily Mirror claim.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who will have two years left on his contract, has indicated that he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Mirror say Blues boss Antonio Conte is willing to listen to offers for Fabregas and that Milan are interested in a potential deal.

Express claim Blues want Tielemans

Chelsea hope to beat Manchester United to the signing of Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans, the Daily Express claim.

The Blues are said to have targeted Tielemans, 19, after missing out on Atalanta’s Franck Kessie, who was reported to be a Chelsea transfer target despite no approach for him being made.

Tielemans, apparently rated at £25m, is now said to be a target. United are reportedly interested too.

Morata still being linked

Chelsea and United are also said to be battling to sign Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata, who continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Morata, who previously had a two-year spell at Juventus, has been touted as a possible replacement for Diego Costa at Chelsea this summer amid speculation over the futures of both players.

The Daily Star declare that the two Premier League clubs are set for a “transfer showdown” this summer in a fight to sign Morata.
