We reckon QPR are heading for the title – and punters agree

QPR  have made a very encouraging start to the new season and have been cut from 5s into 4/1 at BetVictor to win the Championship title.

There seems sure to be more incomings and goings at Loftus Road between now and the end of the transfer window but punters have been getting behind the R’s in recent days and they have been very well supported.

We also have a market on the top R’s goalscorer in the Championship this season and can’t split Andrew Johnson and Charlie Austin at 7/4 with Bobby Zamora at 4/1.

It would not surprise me if Harry Redknapp added another striker to his squad between now and the end of the window, with Jermain Defoe one of a number of forwards currently being linked with a move.

Top Rangers goalscorer in the Championship 2013/14: prices from BetVictor
Austin 7/4
Johnson 7/4
Zamora 4/1
Wright-Phillips 14/1
Hoilett 14/1

Rangers are 13/8 (from 2/1) to be promoted and 6/5 to finish the season as the top side from the three who were relegated from the Premier League last term.

We have a number of specials which might be of interest to Rangers fans.

Top relegated side in the Championship:
QPR 6/5
Reading 2/1
Wigan 9/4

Top London club in the Championship:
QPR 10/11
Watford 5/4
Charlton 12/1
Millwall 16/1

Charlie Austin is 9/1 to be the top goalscorer in the Championship with Andrew Johnson 20s (from 66s) and Bobby Zamora 33s.

If you could guarantee that Johnson would have an injury-free season, that 20/1 still looks good value although I know many were on at the initial 66s.

Rangers are 13/10 at Huddersfield on Saturday in a game which should tell us more about the Hoops’ Championship aspirations.

The Yorkshire side struggled last term, but they are always a handful at the John Smith’s Stadium and, in another former Everton striker James Vaughan, they have a player who, if he can be kept fit, is going to score goals.

Huddersfield played well at the City Ground despite being beaten 1-0 by Forest on the opening day, before beating Yorkshire rivals Bradford 2-0 in the Capital One Cup in midweek.

I think a draw at 12/5 wouldn’t be a bad result for QPR and a win would certainly make the rest of the division sit up and take notice.

A 1-1 draw is the recommendation at 11/2 with BetVictor.

After last season’s travails these are exciting times at Rangers, with manager Redknapp building his own side which he believes can get the club back into the Premier League.

It is going to be a long hard slog but we believe they are well equipped to make it back at the first attempt.
