Transfer gossip: Jota linked with Glasgow Rangers

Mark Warburton wants to sign Jota for Glasgow Rangers, The Scottish Sun say.

It is claimed that ex-Brentford manager Warburton is targeting January loan move for the Spanish playmaker, who is on loan at Eibar from the Bees.

He played under Warburton at Griffin Park and his former boss, who took over at Ibrox after leaving Brentford last year, is said to be keen to be reunited with him.

Warburton has been linked with Jota after recently declaring that he was looking to sign a “dynamic, goalscoring” overseas midfielder with an “outstanding pedigree”.

Jota had an excellent spell at Brentford before his return to Spain

He also apparently suggested that any loan move would be with a view to a permanent deal.

It also comes as Warburton is being tipped to strengthen his squad in January following injuries to a number of players.

He is currently without Jordan Rossiter, Josh Windass and former QPR man Niko Kranjcar, who are all sidelined.
