Transfer gossip: Chelsea linked with Greece centre-back
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…
Roma’s Kostas Manolas is the latest centre-back to be linked with Chelsea and touted as a possible replacement for John Terry.
A report on an Italian website, picked up by Metro, claimed that Chelsea are considering a move for the 24-year-old Greece international.
The Daily Star has therefore declared that a replacement for Terry has been found in Manolas.
Jose Mourinho’s attendance at the Euro 2016 qualifier between Ukraine and Spain in Kiev means there has been much speculation over the last 24 hours about who the Chelsea manager travelled to watch.
The Independent suggests he could have been there to see Ukraine’s Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko.
The Daily Express have since suggested that two Spain players could be on Mourinho’s radar, with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara and Celta Vigo forward Nolito mentioned.
Reports in Spain, meanwhile, speculate that Mourinho might have been impressed with Spain’s Real Madrid midfielder Isco, who has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League.
