Harry Redknapp has held talks with Joe Cole’s representatives over a possible move to QPR for the former England star, according to the Sunday People.
Cole, who has been out of favour at Liverpool, played under Redknapp at West Ham and the Rangers boss is keen to take him to Loftus Road.
It is suggested that Redknapp has stepped up his bid to sign him and that Cole is eager to make the move, which could be on loan or on a permanent basis.
The People also say QPR are looking at taking Barcelona winger Isaac Cuenca, 21, on loan and that Frank Lampard is desperate for January move from Chelsea, with Redknapp ready to offer his nephew a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The Sunday Telegraph suggest Redknapp is keen to bid for Newcastle’s Demba Ba and is hopeful of offloading Djibril Cisse, with Argentine Milton Caraglio of Chilean club Rangers also a target.
And the Daily Star Sunday say Arsenal’s Marouane Chamakh could be on his way to QPR.
Meanwhile, Diego Simeone has been added to the list of managers Chelsea will turn to if Pep Guardiola rejects the chance to take over at Stamford Bridge, the Sunday Mirror say.
It is claimed that the former Argentina star, who famously clashed with David Beckham in the 1998 World Cup, is one of number of alternatives Chelsea are lining up amid concern that Guardiola may snub them.
Simeone is currently in charge at Atletico Madrid. Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp is also touted as a contender for the Blues job.
