QPR’s Bothroyd could be fined by Owls boss – report

Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones could hit Jay Bothroyd with a hefty fine for branding Owls supporters “thick” on Twitter, The Sun say.

The striker, on loan from QPR, was criticised by fans after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by Bolton.

Meanwhile, Fulham boss Martin Jol is set to revive his apparent interest in Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia when the January transfer window opens, according to the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed Jol was one of several Premier League managers to go for the 26-year-old in the summer, when Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle were also said to be keen.

Fulham were apparently scared off by Atletico’s £7m asking price and were unable to agree a loan deal instead.

It is also claimed that Jol is considering an emergency move for unattached midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker and has been offered Owen Hargreaves and former Aston Villa man Thomas Hizlsperger.
