QPR v Wolves: five key battles

QPR face Kenny Jackett’s Wolves at Loftus Road this weekend. Here are five potential battles we think could be all-important in Saturday’s game.

Nedum Onuoha v Adam Le Fondre
With in-form January signing Michal Zyro out injured, Le Fondre will return up front for Wolves. The former Reading man has only three goals to his name this season, but did find the net on his last visit to west London – the 3-0 win at Fulham in September – so Rangers captain Onuoha will need to carefully watch him.

Paul Konchesky v Rajiv Van La Parra
Dutchman Van La Parra, back in the side after a loan spell at Brighton, played up front with Zyro in the last couple of games but may be used out wide with Jordan Graham ruled out for the season. If he does, it’s likely to be on the right, where he will test out Konchesky. The veteran left-back was given the runaround at Rotherham last time out.

Sebastian Polter v Danny Batth
The German has made the most of his run in the Rangers team, scoring three times in his last four league games, and will expect to keep his place despite the arrival of new signing Conor Washington. Batth missed the first six weeks of the season but has been an ever-present since.

Karl Henry v Dave Edwards
Former Wolves man Henry was on the winning side on his return to Molineux in August and will once again come up against former team-mate Edwards, who will line-up alongside Kevin McDonald in the centre. Henry will need to impose himself.

Junior Hoilett v Dominic Iorfa
With Matt Phillips’ future uncertain – Middlesbrough had a bid for him rejected on the eve of this game – Rangers may have to rely more on Hoilett for creativity from out wide. He is most likely to come up against right-back Iorfa – the son of former QPR striker Dominic Iorfa.
