QPR v Stoke player ratings

Confirmation of QPR’s relegation moved closer as they were beaten 2-0 at home by Stoke. Here’s how we rated Rangers’ players on another miserable afternoon at Loftus Road.

Rob Green: 6
Did okay on his return to the side and produced a decent first-half save to deny Peter Crouch.

Jose Bosingwa: 6
Willing to get forward but produced little of note, although he did go close with a free-kick.

Chris Samba: 5
Effective in the air as you would expect, but sluggish on the ground – not least when being beaten by Cameron Jerome in the build-up to Stoke’s first goal.

Clint Hill: 5
Also could have done better for the opener. He was slower to react than Crouch, who he later fouled for the penalty which resulted in Stoke’s second goal.

Tal Ben Haim: 6
Uncomfortable at left-back but gave it a go and produced a number of important challenges.

Andros Townsend: 6
Produced a couple of piercing runs before being replaced at half-time because of a hamstring problem.

Shaun Derry: 6
Brought back into the side and performed a task he knows well, sitting deep and keeping things simple.

Stephane Mbia: 6
Lacks composure but his energy prevented Rangers being completely overrun in midfield.

Junior Hoilett of QPR
Hoilett had another poor game.

Junior Hoilett: 5
Ineffective and appears to have gone back into his shell after his recent improved displays.

Adel Taarabt: 7
Lively in the first half and linked up well with Loic Remy. Was missed after going off injured soon after the break.

Loic Remy: 7
Showed his quality by causing Stoke’s defence problems even during periods when he had very little service. Was unlucky not to score, especially when a first-time effort flashed just wide.

Jamie Mackie: 6
Worked hard after coming on without creating much.

Jay Bothroyd: 5
Failed to trouble Stoke after his introduction.
