Goals from Charlie Austin and Karl Henry gave QPR a fourth consecutive league win and kept them in touch with Championship leaders Leicester. Here’s how we rated the players in their 2-1 victory.
Rob Green: 7
Was busier than perhaps expected. Produced two important stops from lively substitute Lee Chung-Yong but was caught slightly flat footed for Jay Spearing’s goal.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto: 5
A very classy player but looked uncomfortable playing at right-back, giving away possession on numerous occasions in the first half and was at fault for the goal.
Clint Hill: 7
A committed night’s work from the skipper, who left everything out on the field as always.
Richard Dunne: 7
Never really pulled into dangerous areas by Craig Davies and he strolled through the game in his usual powerful yet surprisingly graceful style.
Armand Traore: 6
Given a chance to show off his credentials but put in a limited performance. Bombed forward with pace but his final ball is still far from accurate enough.
Karl Henry: 7
Notched a fantastic goal – his first in the league since 2008 – and although the crowd seemed frustrated with his slow passing game, he did a fine job for the team in a more dynamic role that doesn’t suit him.
Tom Carroll: 6
The jury is still out on the Tottenham loanee. Grew as the game went on but was totally overrun in the opening 30 minutes. Far more productive when playing with an all-action midfield partner like Joey Barton.
Niko Krancjar: 7
A few silky touches mixed in with some typically forceful runs. Always looked for the ball and one of QPR’s main problems was failing to supply the Croatian with more fruitful possession in dangerous areas.
Matt Phillips: 7
Really starting to find his feet and fitness as a QPR player. Delivered a clever and pin-point cross for Austin’s all-important opener and his all-round play was very impressive. He has a huge part to play over the next few months.
Andy Johnson: 6
The game seemed to pass him by as he never got the right service down the channels. Linked up well with Bobby Zamora in the second half though.
Charlie Austin: 7
Once again Austin delivered the goods at a critical moment. QPR were struggling to find any attacking inspiration before he powered home another fine header just before half-time. He is proving to be a fantastic signing.
Bobby Zamora: 7
A decent cameo after coming on – despite the ironic cheers which greeted his arrival.
Shaun Wright-Phillips: 6
Failed to influence the game when sent on to replace Krancjar.
Bolton
Dougie Freedman’s side looked short on confidence throughout but did manage to create some decent openings. Mark Davies was their stand-out player in midfield and the tricky Lee made a big difference when introduced in the second half.
Man of the match: Phillips

Though Henry was poor caught in posession too many times giving the ball away after being crowded out and looking for a foul when usually a simple pass was on leading to a Bolton attack. Plenty of wayward passing as well. The goal has saved him from critisism IMO. Carroll was a bit better but need Barton in there for a bit more composure in midfield.
