QPR chairman defiant after Remy and co are linked with moves

Tony Fernandes has taken to Twitter to hit back at reports of a player exodus if QPR are relegated.

January signing Loic Remy is expected to leave Loftus Road, with Arsenal and Tottenham said to be interested, while the likes of Chris Samba, Julio Cesar and Adel Taarabt have been tipped to also move on.

There has also been speculation about the future of Joey Barton, who expects to stay at Marseille.

But Fernandes continues to suggest that the club will not be under pressure to sell key members of the squad.

Fernandes is remaining positive.

The Rangers chairman tweeted: “For the record QPR players under contract cannot decide where they play. They are under CONTRACT.”

Meanwhile, Barton has responded to Marseille’s denial that a deal is in place for him to join the French club, where he is on loan from the R’s, on a permanent basis.

Barton tweeted: “Look not going to publicly have a pop at QPR or @tonyfernandes , they have enough on their plate. Let’s just see what happens in the summer!”

And QPR forward Rowan Vine has expressed delight that a supporters’ group takeover of his former club Portsmouth has been given the go-ahead after a High Court hearing.

“Absolutely buzzing that Portsmouth FC is to be owned and ran by the best football supporters in the country,” he declared.
