Nottingham Forest v QPR player ratings
QPR, who have never won at the City Ground, picked up a point against Nottingham Forest in an uninspiring match. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 0-0 draw.
Alex Smithies: 8
An excellent – and hugely encouraging – performance from the man recently installed as first-choice keeper in place of Rob Green. He produced a number of saves, including a great stop to deny Michael Mancienne, and was solid, commanding and reliable despite the wet and windy conditions.
James Perch: 6
The right-back’s steady recent form continued with another composed display.
Nedum Onuoha: 7
Beaten in the air at times but overall had a decent game and his partnership with Grant Hall is developing nicely.
Grant Hall: 8
Continues to impress with his calm and classy performances at the heart of Rangers’ defence. Knows when to play and when to take the no-nonsense route out of danger.
Paul Konchesky: 5
Spared the kind of torrid time he was given in the previous couple of matches, but the veteran left-back was unconvincing again. His passing was very erratic.
Alejandro Faurlin: 6
The game passed him by during spells but he went close to scoring with a free-kick and always looked to create when he had the ball.
Massimo Luongo: 6
Didn’t quite manage a repeat of his impressive recent performances but this was a different type of game – one in which Luongo showed great determination to prove he can impose himself physically as well on the ball. That was underlined by one crunching challenge after his initial mistake.
Matt Phillips: 6
Brought a good save from Forest keeper Dorus De Vries in the first half and was lively at times without seriously troubling the home defence.
Junior Hoilett: 7
Rangers’ best attacking player. Hoilett also brought a save from De Vries and was a threat to Forest before being taken off in the second half. Worked hard off the ball too.
Leroy Fer: 6
Did nothing especially wrong, but this was not his kind of game. Looked off the pace.
Sebastian Polter: 6
Not much went his way, and the German target man certainly isn’t blessed with great technical ability, but he again worked hard and deserves some praise for his effort.
Conor Washington: 7
Looks to be a good signing. Showed enthusiasm and searing pace after coming off the bench – definitely a major positive for Rangers.
