Newcastle have agreed a £10m deal for Loic Remy, beating off competition from QPR and others, according to the Daily Mirror.
Tottenham and West Ham are also reported to have shown an interest in the 25-year-old striker, who is set to leave Marseille when the transfer window opens.
It is claimed Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is about to clinch Remy’s signing in a deal that could involve Sylvain Marveaux going the other way.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp tried to sign Remy while in charge at Tottenham and recently indicated that he would like to take the player to west London.
The Mirror also report that QPR have made an approach to take ex-Chelsea man Salomon Kalou on loan from Lille.
Brazilian striker Willian is still hopeful of joining Chelsea next month, The Sun say.
Shakhtar Donetsk were reported to have blocked a £20m transfer last summer but the 24-year-old continues to be linked with move to Stamford Bridge.
