Chelsea linked with bid for Real Sociedad star Griezmann
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho wants to sign Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann, according to The Sun.
Arsenal reportedly had a £12m bid for the Frenchman rejected earlier this month because Sociedad wanted double that amount.
And it is claimed that Mourinho is keen to take Griezmann, 22, to Stamford Bridge now a deal appears to have been agreed with Manchester United for Juan Mata.
Fans’ favourite Mata is expected to move to Old Trafford on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The Sun quotes a Chelsea source as saying: “It’s a win, win, win situation — good for Mata, good for Chelsea and good for United. Everyone’s happy.
“Mata’s a great kid and well liked by everyone here. Although it’s sad to see him go, it’s for the best for all concerned.”
Meanwhile, the Daily Mail says Chelsea are interested in Basel striker Mohamed Salah, who is apparently also wanted by Liverpool.
But the Daily Mirror says Chelsea do not intend to splash out on a forward during the current transfer window.
And Chelsea are confident of signing Wayne Rooney from Manchester United in the summer, according to The Times.
