MK Dons v QPR: five key battles

QPR will look to maintain their encouraging recent form when they face MK Dons this weekend. Here are five potential battles we think could be important in Saturday’s game.

Matt Phillips v Dean Lewington
Phillips produced a lively performance against Birmingham last weekend and if on form could be too much for Dons stalwart Lewington to handle.

Sebastian Polter v Kyle McFadzean
The Dons centre-back likes a scrap – and has 12 yellow cards this season to prove it. Rangers want more of the same from Polter, who was a constant nuisance to the Birmingham defence last time out.

Karl Henry or Alejandro Faurlin v Jake Forster-Caskey
Despite being passed fit for the Birmingham game, Faurlin sat on the bench and watched Henry put in a solid performance. Whoever is selected against the Dons will come up against Forster-Caskey, a talented England Under-21 international on loan from Brighton.

Grant Hall v Alex Revell or Nicky Maynard
Hall has been excellent but he will face very different challenges depending on who plays up front for the Dons. Ex-West Ham and Cardiff man Maynard has pace to get in behind, while Revell is more of an aerial threat.

Nedum Onuoha v Josh Murphy
Rangers skipper Onuoha is expected to continue at right-back and is likely to line up against on-loan Norwich winger Murphy, who has six goals and four assists to his name this season. West Londoner Murphy was part of the Norwich side which beat Chelsea in the 2013 FA Youth Cup final.
