Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wigan all keen on Chelsea youngster – report
Middlesbrough, Burnley and Wigan want to take Patrick Bamford on loan in January, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Chelsea striker, 20, has impressed for MK Dons and the League One club are looking to extend his loan spell, which is due to expire in the first week of the new year.
But it is claimed that Chelsea are keen for him to be tested at Championship level and that Boro will hope their new manager Aitor Karanka’s relationship with Blues boss Jose Mourinho will help them get Bamford.
Karanka, who recently took charge at the Riverside Stadium, worked under Mourinho at Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, the Sunday People report that Everton are keen to keep Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea for a second season.
The People also say Chelsea’s Ashley Cole is considering joining former Arsenal star Thierry Henry at MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.
And the Sunday Express say Chelsea are planning to bid £30m for Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, who has been widely touted as a possible long-term replacement for Cole.
