Mata expects to undergo Man Utd medical in next 48 hours – report

Juan Mata expects to undergo a medical at Manchester United in the next 48 hours, the Daily Mail says.

The champions are tipped to table a bid of around £37m for Mata, who has struggled to secure a first-team place at Chelsea this season.

And it is claimed that United boss David Moyes and the player himself believe the deal is close to being completed.

Mata is popular among Chelsea fans.

The Daily Mirror says Mata, 25, will be offered four-year contract at Old Trafford and that talks between those involved in the deal have already taken place.

The Sun says Wayne Rooney will refuse to sign new contract at United amid reports be could be on his way to Chelsea.

The Daily Express says United will not consider offering Rooney in exchange as part of any deal to sign Mata.

Meanwhile, there is more speculation over the future of Southampton’s sought-after left-back Luke Shaw.

The Daily Star claims Chelsea are running out of time to agree deal during this transfer window and may have to wait until the summer to sign him.
