Moyes looking to beat Chelsea to signing of Dutch star – report

The Daily Express report that Manchester United boss David Moyes is stepping up his apparent interest in Dutch star Wesley Sneijder, who it is claimed is also a target for Chelsea.

Sneijder, 29, has been tipped to leave Turkish club Galatasaray in January, with Chelsea linked with a bid of up to £12m for the midfielder.

But Moyes is said to be planning to offer Nani and Antonio Valencia in exchange in order to get the deal done.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have again been linked with Inter Milan and Italy defender Andrea Ranocchia, this time by the Daily Mirror.

The Daily Mail say Thibault Courtois wants a fair chance of replacing Petr Cech as Chelsea’s number one keeper next season before agreeing to return to Stamford Bridge.

Courtois, currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, was named La Liga’s goalkeeper of 2012-13 and said: “This is the most beautiful award I’ve ever won in my career.

“In 2011 I was crowned as best goalkeeper in Belgium but this is really on another level.

“”This award has been voted by the managers in our league. I’m still 21 and I can grow as a goalkeeper.”

On his future, he added: “I don’t want to think about it yet. I will decide my future only in a few months.”

Finally, the Mirror claim Dimitar Berbatov wants to leave Fulham when the transfer window opens next month.

Turkish club Trabzonspor are among the clubs believed to be interested in the Bulgarian forward, whose Whites contract expires at the end of the season.
