Man City v QPR player ratings

QPR suffered a humiliating thrashing at the Etihad Stadium and it sealed their relegation back to the Championship. Here’s how we rated the players in Sunday’s 6-0 loss.

Rob Green: 6
Could not do anything about any of City’s six goals. He also made a number of good saves.

Steven Caulker: 5
Perhaps unlucky, perhaps sloppy in the build up to City’s first goal, but he should have prevented Sergio Aguero from wriggling through.

Richard Dunne: 5
Struggled to contain the attacking threat that came at him in constant waves. Was left exposed to Aguero’s pace on several occasions.

Clint Hill: 5
Gave his all, but this was not his day. He unsurprisingly struggled against a forward line full of pace and skill.

Yun Suk-Young: 5
You have to feel for Yun, who works hard and has developed as a player. But his error at the start of the second half was a major lapse in concentration – you simply cannot give Aguero those opportunities.

Matty Phillips: 5
Struggled to get in to the game at times. Enjoyed a brilliant run of form recently but his last couple of displays have been less impressive.

Karl Henry: 5
Was hardly involved and struggled to contain City’s talented midfield.

Joey Barton: 6
Was busy throughout, but couldn’t get hold of the game despite his best efforts.

Leroy Fer: 5
Misplaced passes and poor control summed up his game. Too often the ball was played over his head, making his position behind the front two irrelevant.

Charlie Austin: 6
Had to feed off scraps, but was caught offside too many times in the first half – including when it led to a goal being disallowed.

Bobby Zamora: 6
Tried to disrupt City’s back line and generally put himself about, but should’ve done better with a header and a volley in the first half.

Junior Hoilett: 6
Got in the way of Dunne as the Irishman looked to get on the end of a dangerous free-kick, but gave Joe Hart something do with a fierce drive from distance after coming on as a substitute.
