Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is interested in a potential deal to re-sign Dimitar Berbatov, according to the Telegraph.
Fulham’s former Spurs striker has been unsettled at Craven Cottage and his agent has said that the player would welcome a move during this month’s transfer window.
Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has suggested the north London club do not need another forward, but it is claimed that Levy is tempted to make a move for Berbatov, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
It is also claimed that he would cost £1.5m and would want £80,000 a week.
Meanwhile, Ivan Rakitic, a Chelsea transfer target according to Talksport, has indicated that he will be staying at Sevilla.
Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Croatia international, who is under contract at the La Liga club until the end of next season.
“I like playing for Sevilla in the present, the future and always,” he is quoted as saying by Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo.
“I am very happy here at this club and also my family are too.”
Eden Hazard has told French television show Tele Foot there is no prospect of him leaving Chelsea to join Paris St-Germain.
The French club have been linked with a bid-money bid for Hazard.
But he said: “Paris has money, Paris is a great club. But I am at Chelsea and there is no chance of me leaving during this transfer market or during the next one, I think.
“I don’t want to leave. To me, Chelsea is the best place to improve.”
And Samuel Eto’o has appeared to suggest he may join Mallorca when his Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season.
Spanish media quoted the former Barcelona star as saying: “My son is pressurising me to retire in Mallorca.
“I signed for this season for Chelsea and I will try to enjoy it and then, Mallorca.”
