Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia is considering handing in a transfer request that could open the door to a move to Chelsea, the Daily Express claim.
Manchester United, Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked with the 25-year-old Italy international, who has recently been touted as a possible replacement for Blues defender David Luiz.
According to reports in Italy, the final straw for Ranocchia came when he was dropped for Inter’s game against Sampdoria.
Chelsea’s Demba Ba will reject a return to West Ham in January, the Express also say.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a bid to take the striker back to Upton Park when the transfer window opens.
But it is claimed that Ba, who left the east London club for Newcastle in 2011, plans to snub the move.
The Express also say Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has refused to give manager Jose Mourinho money to sign a striker next month.
In France, L’Equipe suggest Monaco are competing with Chelsea for the signing of Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are determined to sign Fulham youngsters Patrick Roberts and Moussa Dembele, according to Goal.com.
Liverpool are also said to be interested in Dembele, who was recently included in Fulham’s senior squad for the first time.
