Chelsea and Arsenal want Rabiot, Berbatov, Mata and Lukaku latest and more
Chelsea are competing with Arsenal for the signing of highly-rated Paris St-German midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to French newspaper Le Parisien.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to west London and it is claimed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is interested in taking him to the Emirates Stadium.
Former Arsenal player Gilles Grimandi, now a scout for the north London club, reportedly watched PSG’s win against Lyon at the weekend.
Another highly-rated youngster, Real Madrid’s Spain Under-19 international Alvaro Medran, has also been linked with Chelsea, with
Todomercado.com suggesting the Blues’ former Real boss Jose Mourinho is interested in the player.
Mourinho is keen on Real star Sami Khedira, as are Arsenal and Manchester United, the Daily Star say.
The Star also claim Atletico Madrid want to sign both Juan Mata and Kevin De Bruyne from Chelsea.
Barcelona-based newspaper Sport report that the Catalan giants’ coach Tata Martino likes Romelu Lukaku and recommended him last summer, although the club appear to have no intention of trying to sign the striker from Chelsea in January.
But the Daily Express say Barca are interested in Lukaku, with Mourinho lining up Monaco’s Radamel Falcao as a possible replacement.
Inevitably, there is speculation about Dimitar Berbatov’s future after his agent stated that the Bulgarian forward wants to leave Fulham. The Express claim Chelsea are interested along with Arsenal and Liverpool.
Sky Sports report that keeper Thibaut Courtois is set to hold talks with Chelsea about his long-term future.
The 21-year-old, currently in his third year on loan at Atletico Madrid, told Belgian television station Sporza: “I don’t know where I will be playing next season.
“In a short time I will discuss my future with Chelsea and I want to know their plans.
“I don’t want to wait too long. It’s not good to begin a World Cup while you’re thinking about transfers. I don’t want to wait until May or June.”
The Daily Mail say Courtois is wanted by Barcelona.
