Joey Barton mocked Samir Nasri following the Manchester City man’s sending off at Norwich.
Nasri was dismissed after an altercation with Canaries defender Sebastien Bassong.
It prompted a sarcastic response on Twitter from Barton, who was sent off for a violent outburst at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of last season.
The former City midfielder, currently on loan at Marseille from QPR, tweeted: “Nasri missed his headbutt. Sum’s his form up at the minute…”
Meanwhile, Fulham’s David Stockdale took to Twitter after his horror show against Swansea.
“Thanks to all the the fans messages of support! Even the best make mistakes and I have to learn and respond positively!” the goalkeeper tweeted.
He later added: “The lads played well today despite the mistake and if we keep playing this way we will be top 10 in no time.”
