Hull v Fulham player ratings

Fulham suffered a late defeat at Hull City despite a Tom Cairney goal. Here’s how we rated the players on a difficult night at the KC Stadium.

Marcus Bettinelli: 6
Having been beaten by Ahmed Elmohamady for Hull’s opener, the Whites keeper was then stretchered off after a nasty-looking penalty-area collision with Matt Smith. Boss Kit Symons will be hoping the injury is not too serious.

Jazz Richards: 6
Came up against the pacy Sone Aluko and attack-minded left-back Andrew Robertson, performing his defensive duties relatively well while putting in a few good crosses in the second half.

Shaun Hutchinson: 8
Bounced back from his injury-time nightmare against Brighton on Saturday with a composed performance, winning plenty of headers and some crucial interceptions.

Nikolay Bodurov: 6
His good moments, mostly some useful challenges in the first half, were overshadowed by poor defending for Hull’s second goal and his earlier booking for a daft blocking of Chuba Akpom.

Kay Voser: 5
Guilty of a loose pass in the first half and couldn’t keep a lid on Elmohamady down Hull’s right side. The nadir came with his foul throw in the second period.

Tom Cairney: 7
Another fantastic strike, following up his cracker against Brighton, but both ended up being for a losing cause. However, he was only involved sporadically against the club where he began his professional career.

Jamie O’Hara: 7
Passed the ball efficiently but was also booked late on for a foul on Isaac Hayden. Not quite as influential as in his previous games for Fulham, but still looks like he will be an important cog in the midfield.

Lasse Vigen Christensen: 6
Quick feet helped him set up Cairney’s goal and he played a couple of excellent passes but sometimes the game drifted by him.

Ben Pringle: 6
Struggled to make an impression out on the left despite attempting a number of crosses. Replaced late on by Alex Kacaniklic, when perhaps only the enforced double change kept him on the pitch longer.

Ross McCormack: 6
Bright enough early on but was starved off the ball as Hull took charge later in the first half. Did get a couple of shots away as Fulham improved after the break.

Matt Smith: 6
Had Fulham’s sole shot on goal in the first half, a tame low effort fielded by Allan McGregor, and saw his evening ended prematurely after the clash with Bettinelli.

Andy Lonergan: 6
Barely had a save to make after replacing Bettinelli and looked on course for a clean sheet until exposed by his defence for Hull’s winner.

Moussa Dembele: 6
Still yet to score a first league goal in 16 games for the Whites and had just one chance at the KC Stadium, heading wide.
