Harry Redknapp for QPR? Plenty of punters seem to think so

We have already seen managers lose their jobs at Coventry and Chesterfield so far this season.

And with Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs to come in September, Mark Hughes has been backed from 9s into 7/2 joint favourite at betvictor.com along with Sam Allardyce and Nigel Adkins to be the first top-flight boss to lose or leave his job.

Harry Redknapp was 12/1 this time last week to be the next manager of QPR. The former Spurs boss has been backed into 4/1 and it could be a difficult month for Sparky, beginning with a return to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday – the scene of possibly the most famous Premier League game in history.

Hughes for the chop?

Rangers are 14/1 to cause a shock, having come so close for so long back in May with City 1/5 and the draw at 13/2.

Bobby Zamora scored a cracker in midweek and is 14/1 to score the opener on Saturday evening.

Another 3-2 win for City is 25/1, although the R’s know that Sergio Aguero won’t be scoring a 95th minute winner on this occasion.

QPR were the only team in the divison not to hand a single start to a player under 21 last season and some of the signings again this summer look at best short-term and at worst costly.

Having been full of optimism for the Hoops this season I now worry about their long-term strategy.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are 16/1 to retain their Champions League crown at Wembley in June despite making a great start to the new season, having added pace and youth to their ranks.

The Blues are 11/8 to add to win the Super Cup in Monaco against Atletico Madrid, who are 23/10 with the draw also 23/10.

And they are now only 10/3 to land the Premier League, having been 11/2 at the start of the season, 7s for the FA Cup and 8s for the Capital One Cup.

Atletico Madrid will provide a stern test and there are sure to be comparisons made between past and present Atletico strikers, with Radamel Falcao and Fernando Torres in the spotlight.

Torres has been brilliant so far this season for the champions of Europe after a difficult first 18 months at the Bridge, and he is beginning to emerge from the shadows of Didier Drogba.

BetVictor have come up with a market for Eden Hazard assists in the Super Cup.

Hazard has taken the Premier League by storm with five assists in his three starts and the Belgian is only 10/3 to have two or more assists in what promises to be a cracking contest in Monaco.

European Super Cup prices from BetVictor:
Chelsea 11/8
Atletico 23/10
Draw 23/10

Eden Hazard assists: (must start or all bets void)
0 11/10
1 6/4
2 or more 10/3

Torres v Falcao; 90 minute match bet
Torres 9/4
Falcao 9/4
Tie 21/20

What nationality will score most goals? (only these two count)
England 9/2
Spain 11/20
Draw 13/5

One could argue that Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo is overly reliant on Torres – who is 1/2 to be top Premier League goalscorer this term – and don’t be surprised if we see another forward brought into the Chelsea squad before the transfer window closes.

Torres is 11/2 to score the opener against his former club (Falcao 6s) and 33/1 to score a hat-trick, with the brilliant Eden Hazard 9/1 to net first.

Fulham are 19/10 to win at West Ham in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off with the hosts 31/20 and the draw 12/5.

The Hammers were poor against Swansea last weekend and Fulham look sure to have their chances. having created many at Old Trafford. That said, Fulham don’t have a good record at Upton Park.

Carlton Cole has scored six goals in his last six league appearances against the Whites and is 7/1 to score the opener.

I think it will end 1-1, which is priced at 11/2.
