Fans on Twitter react to Crystal Palace bid for QPR’s McCarthy
QPR fans on Twitter have been pleading with the club not to sell goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.
Rangers have rejected a £3m offer from Crystal Palace for McCarthy, just short of the £3.5m release clause in the former Reading man’s contract.
And supporters not only want the keeper to stay at Loftus Road, many want him installed as first choice ahead of Robert Green.
@WestLondonSport shocking if we let him go he should be given the number 1 jersey move on.

I like Rob Green but he’s 36 this season, on £50k a week, out of contract in 12 months time. Selling McCarthy would be ridiculous IMO. #QPR

We’ll be foolish to let McCarthy go to Palace. Green may have done very well but we need to make the transition to a younger keeper now #QPR

Palace fans have been having their say, too. Current back-up keeper Wayne Hennessey is being tipped to join West Brom, which would mean McCarthy potentially competing with Julian Speroni for the number one jersey at Selhurst Park.
I really don’t want Speroni in goal for another season. I hope McCarthy comes in as number one. #cpfc

I’d rather keep Hennessey. McCarthy looked very dodgy at times last season. Especially in that 5-1 loss at Leicester #cpfc

I like WH think he is better than Speroni… McCarthy however is VERY good.
