Latest speculation over QPR duo Austin and Phillips
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…
West Brom could be willing to meet QPR’s asking price in order to sign Matty Phillips, the Daily Mirror say.
West London Sport recently revealed that Rangers had rejected an offer from Albion for Phillips, who has been linked with a number of other clubs.
The Mirror now say Albion are desperate to land the winger and could be prepared to pay as much as the £10m Rangers are looking for.
It is also claimed that Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester are interested but that the Baggies are willing to outbid them.
Meanwhile, the north-east media continue to insist that Newcastle are attempting to sign Charlie Austin.
The Magpies have not made an approach to QPR regarding the striker despite numerous reports of manager Steve McClaren being keen to capture him.
However, the Newcastle Chronicle have previously reported that approaches were made for Austin and say a ‘fresh approach’ has now been made.

If Albion sign Phillips for 10 million then hopefully Phillips can persuade Austin to join the Baggies as well – offer 25 million for the pair, then get the young Arsenal Winger on Loan for the season a left back and right back plus a centre midfielder (Playmaker) and if there is enough money still in the kitty maybe another striker, offload Brunt, Anichebe and maybe Ollsen and we should be heading for Europe.
