Fulham’s worrying run continues. Here’s how we rated the players in their 1-1 draw against Wigan at Craven Cottage, where the Latics’ second-half equaliser denied Martin Jol’s side a much needed win.
Mark Schwarzer: 8
Man of the match. The veteran keeper made a number of fine second-half saves to prevent Wigan stealing all three points instead of one.
Sascha Riether: 6
Had problems coping with Jean Beausejour throughout the match and Wigan’s 3-4-3 set-up meant he had to cope with Maynor Figueroa too at times.
Brede Hangeland: 6
Had a solid game. Speculation over his future does not appear to be affecting him on the pitch.
Aaron Hughes: 6
Did quite well, although Franco di Santo was allowed space to turn and shoot on a number of occasions.
Kieran Richardson: 6
Had an uneventful game and it was the lack of support from the full-backs – the kind of support usually given by John Arne Riise – that gave much less dynamism to Fulham’s attacks. Richardson is known for his attacking threat but it didn’t appear to be on offer.
Damien Duff: 7
Looked dangerous every time he got the ball on the right-hand side but he was handled well by Wigan’s Figueroa.
Giorgos Karagounis: 7
His second strike from distance in as many weeks to earn Fulham a point may be winning him a place in the hearts of Whites supporters and he provides a wise, intelligent head in the middle of the park. It is debatable, however, whether the 35-year-old has the legs for 90 minutes.
Bryan Ruiz: 7
Ruiz is considered by many to be the man to unlock the door for Fulham when things get tough but he had a relatively quiet game. But he did excellently to fashion a last-minute chance that was spectacularly headed off the line by Figueroa.
Alex Kacaniklic: 6
Again, did not offer the attacking threat he usually does. He improved in the second half but struggled to create chances.
Dimitar Berbatov: 6
Was not his usual self. He was handled well by the Wigan back three.
Mladen Petric: 5
Rarely in the game and his shooting was wasteful.
Hugo Rodallega: 6
Clearly had the desire to find the winning goal for his side after coming on as a 65th-minute substitute, but was left frustrated.
