Fulham v Norwich player ratings

Fulham will travel to face Sheffield United in the fourth round of the FA Cup after a one-sided replay against Norwich. Here’s how we rated the players in their 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage.

Maarten Stekelenburg: 7
Back from injury, the Dutch keeper produced an important save when Norwich were on top early on.

Sascha Riether: 7
A fairly typical Riether display. The German full-back was solid defensively and got forward well, serving up a fine cross for Steve Sidwell to head home Fulham’s third goal.

Brede Hangeland: 7
Made a welcome return to the team following a sciatic nerve problem. Marshalled the defence well and saved the day with a couple of brilliant headed clearances at set-pieces.

Dan Burn: 7
The young centre-back showed his potential on his home debut. He can be ungainly on the ball and definitely needs time to ‘grow into’ into his towering frame. A return to Birmingham on loan for more Championship experience is probably a wise move.

Kieran Richardson: 7
Got forward well on the left-hand side, showing plenty of quality. He did have the luxury of very good cover from Alexander Kacaniklic though.

Askhan Dejagah: 7
Caused problems with his pace and worked hard without the ball too. Was given an easy chance to score and made no mistake.

Steve Sidwell: 8
Ran the show in midfield. Passed well, closed down brilliantly and scored a with a header after bursting into the box.

Giorgos Karagounis: 7
Composed in midfield and created the opening for Fulham’s second goal with a perfectly-weighted pass. Surprisingly lasted the full 90 minutes. A good night for the Greek veteran.

Alexander Kacaniklic: 7
Sloppy on the ball at times and often seems to lack self belief in the final third. But he worked hard, was always willing to receive the ball, dropped back to helped Richardson when needed and set up the second goal.

Pajtim Kasami: 8
Appeared to drift out of the game in spells but his movement, link-up play and close control gave Norwich all sorts of problems and the Canaries defenders were never sure how to deal with him. And he created the all-important opening goal.

Darren Bent: 7
Didn’t do much outside the box but did his job, scoring when an opportunity came his way and helping to change the course of the game after Fulham had endured a difficult start.

Norwich
Made a lively start, almost went ahead when Robert Snodgrass hit the bar in the opening minutes and have a real prospect in Wembley-born teenager Josh Murphy. But they defended very poorly and quickly lost heart after going behind.

Man of the match: Sidwell
