Fulham favourites to sign Villa man in January – report

Fulham are favourites to sign Darren Bent from Aston Villa during next month’s transfer window, the Sunday People say.

It is claimed Whites boss Martin Jol could meet Villa’s £8m asking price, though Bent may have to accept a pay cut.

And The Sun on Sunday report that Fulham are set to sign Standard Liege keeper Sinan Bolat for £800,000.

The People also say both Fulham and QPR want France Under-21 midfielder Yacouba Sylla.

He currently plays for Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot, who will apparently listen to offers of around £750,000.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is ready to move for West Ham’s Momo Diame, again according to the People.

It is claimed Redknapp is looking to exploit clause in the Senegalese midfielder’s contract which allows him to leave for £3.5m.

Rangers are set to swoop for Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, the Sunday Mirror say.

He was reportedly the subject of a £15m bid from Tottenham last season but has a bad-boy reputation in France, which apparently means he could be available for around £7.5m.

QPR are again linked with Celtic striker Gary Hooper, this time by the Sunday Express, while the Sunday Telegraph suggest Redknapp will sell Jose Bosingwa.

Chelsea are considering tabling a bid for Tottenham’s Benoit Assou-Ekotto, according to the Sunday Mirror.

It is claimed the Blues see him as potential replacement for Ashley Cole, who is tipped to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Sunday Mirror also say Chelsea are to offer Juan Mata new contract and that Daniel Sturridge’s proposed move to Liverpool almost collapsed because he wanted a clause in his contract stating he would be used as a striker rather than out wide.
