Other clubs reported to be chasing QPR target Bentley
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…
The Daily Mail say QPR face competition from other clubs for the signing of Dan Bentley and that the club have been told by Southend that he is not for sale.
Rangers plan to offer the Shrimpers around £1.5m for Bentley and are hoping to complete a deal prior to Saturday’s Championship opener against Charlton.
The Mail say Hull City, Swansea and Nottingham Forest are also interested in the 22-year-old, who helped Southend win promotion last season.
But the R’s are still said to be the frontrunners to sign him as they look to thrash out a deal.

Meanwhile, QPR head coach Chris Ramsey telling BBC London that he expects Charlie Austin to leave the club has led to yet more speculation over the striker’s future.
Ramsey’s comments have been picked up by the Newcastle Chronicle, who continue to claim that Newcastle boss Steve McClaren is trying to sign Austin.
West Ham have also been linked with the 26-year-old. The Evening Standard reports that the Hammers would let Matt Jarvis go in a cash-plus-player deal.
