Transfer gossip: United plan £45m move for Hazard, Star say

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

The Daily Star claim Manchester United are planning a £45m move for Eden Hazard.

There has been much speculation that Hazard could leave Chelsea this month, with Real Madrid and Paris St-Germain reported to be keen to sign him.

The Star say United have turned to Hazard after being told they have no chance of signing Gareth Bale from Real.

The newspaper quotes a source as saying: “The club (United) has to be realistic and realise that signing Gareth Bale or Cristiano Ronaldo remains a long shot, which means alternative targets come into the equation.

“Eden Hazard is certainly one of those and the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again.”
