A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs….
Crystal Palace have made contact with Chelsea about Loic Remy and are set to make an offer for the striker, the Mirror say.
Remy played under Alan Pardew when the Palace manager was in charge at Newcastle, and Pardew was therefore linked with him during the summer transfer window, but denied he planned to make a move for him.
He has again been linked with Remy and the Mirror say Palace plan to offer Chelsea £6m for the former QPR man.
Aston Villa boss Remi Garde recently confirmed his interest in signing Remy.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are being linked with Lokomotiv Moscow forward Oumar Niasse.
A number of newspapers have touted the 25-year-old for a possible move to Stamford Bridge after an Italian journalist claimed Chelsea are keen to sign him. Everton and Aston Villa are also said to be interested.
The Mirror also reports that AC Milan want to sign Branislav Ivanovic from the Blues this month.
And speculation continues over the future of Charlie Austin, with Newcastle yet again tipped to make an attempt to sign the QPR striker.
The Daily Mail say Newcastle, repeatedly reported to have pursued Austin last year despite not making an approach, will look to strike a deal to sign him during this month’s transfer window.
Austin plans to see out the remaining few months of his contract at Loftus Road. The Mail claim ‘the decision could be taken out of his hands.’
