Transfer gossip: Chelsea linked with Ighalo and QPR are again linked with Blues duo
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…
Watford’s Odion Ighalo is the latest striker to be linked with Chelsea.
The Daily Mirror say the Blues are monitoring Ighalo, 26, along with Arsenal and a number of other supposedly interested clubs.
The Mirror also say Chelsea defender Papy Djilbodji could join German side Werder Bremen on loan.
Meanwhile, QPR have made loan offers for Chelsea duo Patrick Bamford and Charly Musonda, the Evening Standard say.
Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Rayo Vallecano are also said to have made enquiries about Belgium Under-21 midfielder Musonda, while Bamford has been linked with a move to Loftus Road since a recent loan spell at Crystal Palace was cut short.
The Daily Star claim Chelsea are interested in Southampton striker Graziano Pelle, while The Sun claim Chelsea fear they could lose Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Thibaut Courtois because of the possibility of the club missing out on the Champions League.
A ‘Blues source’ is quoted as saying: “Yes, they’re tied into deals but those contracts won’t stop rivals moving in at the end of the season.
“And they won’t stop our players considering their futures either. Contracts don’t count for a lot these days.”
And the Northern Echo reports that Middlesbrough are considering making a fresh bid for Ross McCormack after having an initial offer for the Fulham striker rejected.
