Chelsea have opened talks with the representatives of Miralem Pjanic over a potential move for the Roma midfielder, according to The Times.
The newspaper reports that Bosnia-Herzegovina international Pjanic, 25, has £31m release clause that Chelsea could trigger in order to sign him.
He is said to have been recommended to the club by Antonio Conte, who has been widely tipped to take over as Chelsea manager.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is apparently leading the negotiations over a possible deal for Pjanic, who reportedly earns £60,000 a week.
His Roma team-mate Radja Nainggolan has also been recommended to Chelsea by Conte, reports say.
