Transfer gossip: Terry tipped to stay and Blues reportedly offered Gotze
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…
The Sun reports that John Terry could be set to stay at Chelsea and that the club have been offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze.
Blues skipper Terry has indicated that he will not be offered a new contract and will leave Stamford Bridge when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
However, after a planned tribute to the skipper this weekend was reportedly cancelled, there is speculation that he will be given a 12-month contract after all.
Meanwhile, ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is taking over at Bayern, is said to have told his former club that he would be willing to sell Gotze, 23, to them because the midfielder is not in his plans for next season.
Chelsea have acted on the information and held talks with the player’s representatives, The Sun say.
Liverpool are reported to be keen to sign Gotze, who is apparently available for £35m.
German media reports have linked him with a possible move to Arsenal, prompting the Daily Express to declare that the Gunners and Manchester United are also set to lose out.
