Transfer gossip: Chelsea in talks to sign Marquinhos, reports claim
A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs…
Chelsea are once again being linked with Paris St-Germain defender Marquinhos.
The Daily Star have picked up on reports in the 22-year-old’s native Brazil claiming that the Blues, Manchester United and Manchester City are in talks to sign him.
Meanwhile, comments by Álvaro Morata have sparked an auction between Chelsea and Arsenal for the Juventus striker, the Daily Mirror say.
Morata, 23, is said to be a target for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is supposedly willing to pay £30m, while the Blues have also been linked with him.
Speculation he could be on his way to London has continued after he suggested the Premier League would be a “great destination” for him.
Italian media quoted Morata as saying: “There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only because of the contract. I think my characteristics mean the Premier League would be a great destination.
“With what I have learned in Italy, if I have the chance to learn something more in England I think it would make me a more complete player.”
The Daily Express declare that Chelsea have been ‘rocked’ by reports linking Tottenham with Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juventus with Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral.
And Fulham want to sign Bursaspor defender Serdar Aziz, according to the Turkish club’s president Ali Ay.
Ay told Fanatik: “We have two serious offers; one from Fulham and the other from Besiktas. We are considering both bids.”
