New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is said to be a fan of the 18-year-old midfielder and there is therefore speculation that he could target him.
Chelsea have also been linked with Newcastle right-back Daryl Janmaat.
Newcastle’s Evening Chronicle claims Chelsea and Tottenham have been showing an interest in the 26-year-old Dutchman.
Juventus are also said to be keen on Janmaat, who the Chronicle suggests is keen to play Champions League football.
Meanwhile, the Express reports that Chelsea, tipped to make another attempt to sign John Stones, face competition from Barcelona.
It comes after Spanish media speculation that the Everton star could be on a shortlist of defenders Barca are considering as potential signings.
And there have again been reports in the Italian media that Nathaniel Chalobah could return to Chelsea in January.
The 20-year-old has barely featured for Napoli since joining them on a season-long loan.
