Opinion split among QPR fans on Twitter after Green’s error
Many QPR fans on Twitter were left furious with Rob Green after the goalkeeper was sent off in the 2-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest.
With Rangers leading 1-0 with 15 minutes to play, Green brought down Chris O’Grady after failing to control a backpass from Nedum Onuoha.
Forest scored the resultant penalty and then grabbed the winner seven minutes later, with Green bearing the brunt of the criticism.
Robert Green is 100% to blame for this deafeat. Momentum was high and we could have easily won this game against a poor Forest side. #qpr

Time for Smithies to take ownership of the GK position. Green’s distribution pretty scary today before the red card. #QPR

Rob green “England International” cannot control an iffy pass. Shambles he is – always has been. Never trusted him #QPR — thomas nichols (@TomNicholss) September 12, 2015
However, Green – who did hold his hands up to the error on Twitter – still had some backers.
Lots on Twitter criticising Green but most near me at the game were blaming Onahua for the poor back pass #QPR — Sussex Gardener (@TheSussexGarden) September 12, 2015
A bad day for Green but think some fans forget all the good he has done in other games #QPR

Fair play to Rob Green for apologising. Silly split-second thing to do and I bet he knew it the second it happened. #qpr — Steve S (@RuislipR) September 12, 2015
