Chelsea tipped to increase Stones bid and are linked with Ghana star

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea and QPR…

Everton are growing increasingly concerned that they will lose John Stones to Chelsea, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Blues have had two bids for Stones, 21, rejected and Everton boss Roberto Martinez has insisted that the defender is not for sale.

The Telegraph say Chelsea are preparing third bid of around £30m and that Everton insiders fear that their club will ultimately be forced to let Stones move to Stamford Bridge.

The Telegraph also say Chelsea will give Stones encouragement that he would make at least 30 appearances this season with the view to eventually succeeding captain John Terry.

The newspaper also reports that Tottenham would reject any offer from Chelsea for left-back Danny Rose, who has been recently been linked with the Blues.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express reports that Chelsea have held talks with Cagliari about Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah.

It comes after Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini dismissed speculation about the player’s future but suggested there had been contact with Chelsea and Juventus.

“We had a chat a few weeks ago with Juventus and Chelsea, but I am stunned by all these rumours around him. The lad needs to grow up with us,” Giulini is quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, The Sun pick up on QPR boss Chris Ramsey’s insistence yesterday that the club will not reduce their asking price for Matty Phillips.

Rangers want £10m for the 23-year-old winger and last month rejected a £7m bid from West Brom.

And R’s midfielder Leroy Fer has been tipped to complete a loan move to Sunderland.

The north-east media believe Fer, who has also attracted interest from West Ham, will definitely move to the Stadium of Light.
