Speculation over Austin price as clubs continue to be linked with QPR striker

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR and Brentford…

Speculation continues over the future of Charlie Austin, with Everton the latest club to be linked with the QPR striker.

Rangers want £15m for Austin, who has also been linked with the likes of Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham. So far only Leicester have made an approach.

The Sunday People claim QPR are now prepared to lower their asking price to £13m following an approach from Newcastle, who apparently still see that as too much, potentially leaving the door open for Tottenham to sign him.

Newcastle are still yet to make an approach for Austin, 26, while Spurs have shown no interest.

There is again speculation that clubs are cautious about Austin because of his previous injuries, this time by the Daily Star Sunday, who believe QPR may need to accept £10m.

Meanwhile, French media reports say Brentford want to sign striker Sébastien Haller but have been unable to agree a fee.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Dutch club FC Utrecht from Auxerre.
