Chelsea fans on Twitter call for midfield change
Many Chelsea supporters on Twitter have criticised boss Guus Hiddink for his defensive line-up for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
Diego Costa came to the rescue with an injury-time equaliser, after United had had the upper hand and taken the lead through Jesse Lingard.
Many Blues fans were unhappy at Hiddink for deploying both Nemanja Matic and John Mikel Obi together in the centre of midfield, while Eden Hazard was a substitute.
A central midfield axis of Mikel, Matic and Fabregas is a recipe for pedestrian disaster. #CFC

Playing mikel matic is so so so negative in midfield an Matic has been woeful all season

Matic was marginally better today but I still maintain that the Mikel-Matic pivot gives us nothin going forward & is equally poor in defence

Hope we never play mikel & Matic in pivot again

Mikel-Matic in DM was a defensive move. Maybe Guus should take some risk.

13th in the table, no chance of CL, no chance of relegation – just go for it. Mikel Matic combo in midfield isn’t doing it

Wish we didn’t start so defensively. Didn’t start playing till Utd scored first. Mikel/Matic at CDM doesn’t work. Nor does Oscar on the wing

We have to abandon the Mikel/Matic pivot, it doesn’t work, neither does Oscar on the wing. Hazard has to start against Newcastle.

Oscar playing in a wide role is a common bone of contention among Blues fans, with many wanting to see the Brazilian moved back into the middle.
"Everyone knows Fabregas plays better from deep and Oscar is better through middle. Hazard's fitness keeps giving Matic chances… #CFC"

Hazard next time please esp at home. Matic was a waste as was Oscar on the wing KTBFFH #CFC https://t.co/bTQ1bcAE2s

Oscar doesn't have the pace or the consistency to fulfil the wide role. No need for both Matic/Mikel but Cesc is also not the answer #cfc

To partner the two at a match against Man U is right but against Watford?, we need to be more expansive against Watford, Newcastle etc. The most woeful lineup is Oscar on the wings. Totally ineffective. Hazard, Kenedy, Remy would give better performance all day. I also feel Pedro should top strike more than from midfield.
I wonder when Kenedy, Lotus cheek, Bertrand, Pato Maizga would play. We are no longer going to make the top four, why not use more youngsters like Baba in league games while playing the strongest in Cup games
