Fans on Twitter react to keeper Cech’s display against Chelsea
Chelsea and Arsenal fans on Twitter have been reacting to Petr Cech’s performance for the Gunners against his former club in the Community Shield.
After 11 years at Stamford Bridge, it was ironic that Cech’s competitive debut for his new team should come against Chelsea.
Blues fans seemed to agree that Cech’s summer move can only benefit Arsenal, while former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot also praised the goalkeeper.
There were enough chances to win or draw! Cech’s presence made us worry. #mmlove #cfc — Mario Melchiot (@MarioMelchiot) August 2, 2015
90 minutes into his Arsenal career and #Cech is already damaging #CFC‘s trophy prospects. Great keeper though, he deserves to be a No.1

Small trophies for small clubs 👍 Cech will make one hell of a difference this season!! Bring on the title defence!! #CFC — J c H ®™ (@MrJuanHollis) August 2, 2015
Shouldn’t have sold Cech to Arsenal. Kept them in the game. @ChelseaFC #CFC #CommunityShield

Petr Cech is going to save Arsenal 15 points this season. John Terry said it.. #CFC — The Blue Lion (@BlueMonster125) August 2, 2015
Arsenal fans were equally excited by Cech’s showing, with several describing the 33-year-old Champions League-winner as “world class”.
Can’t be underestimated just how much confidence a truly world-class goalkeeper can instill in any back four. #Cech #COYG #CommunityShield — bensun (@realbenrogers) August 2, 2015
It’s just hit home that we now have a world class keeper, finally. #AFC #Cech

Petr Cech looks like he’s made that Arsenal defence better already. Organised, committed they know they’ve a world class keeper behind them — David Turner (@dcturner71) August 2, 2015
Many Chelsea fans were also angry that their respect for Cech was not mirrored by Arsenal supporters when it came to ex-Gunner Cesc Fabregas.
Today you saw the difference in class between our fans. We applauded Cech they booed Fabregas. So who’s classless now? #cfc #chelsea

HUGE difference in the way we greeted Cech & gooners greeted Fabregas. No class, those gooners. #CFC

Cech looks happier with gunners shirt. But mourinho he got taste of his own medicine, thanks to Abramovic for allowing Cech to play for his dream team. 12yrs old team with no history, a team which bouth their trophies. Thanks to Abramovic for buying CFC those trophies. Tell your crazy manager to shut his loud mouth or we will shut it.

Fabs leaving #AFC during club in critical situation while he was captain. He also willing to added his own money to complete the transfer(fee) to Barca. It’s totally different with Cech.

Well, he is a great goal keeper that deserves absolute respect, but he does not fit into long term plan of arsenal, considering his age and depleted form.

a fabulous signing who managed to show Mourinho’s weakness of not accepting where he is defeated. Still tries to justify himself and play on game of words. Mourinho humble himself and accept that he is not meant to be right every time
